PE & Sports Premium

Schools are required to use the additional funding to enhance the quality of their PE and sport provision.

Examples of how the funding may be used include:

• Employing specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work alongside teachers and support the delivery of high-quality PE lessons.
• Developing initiatives to engage less active pupils and encourage greater participation in physical activity.
• Providing professional development and training opportunities for staff to improve PE teaching and sports provision.
• Funding staff cover to enable teachers to attend PE and sport-related training.
• Organising sports competitions and increasing opportunities for pupils to participate in school games and sporting events.
• Working collaboratively with other schools to share resources, expertise, and opportunities through pooled funding arrangements.
